Child & Infant Chiropractic
It is important to realize that chiropractic and health are about function, not pain. It is much easier to stay well than to get well. With these philosophies in mind, it only makes sense to have your child’s spine and neurology checked for Subluxation.
The first physical trauma we encounter is being born.
The birthing process can cause Subluxation by complications and instruments such as forceps and vacuum suction to assist in the birth. Even a so-called “normal” vaginal birth involves the doctor pulling and twisting the infant’s neck into many dangerous positions. Forceps and vacuum suction can exert 90-120 pounds of pressure on the delicate neck and spine. 90 pounds of pressure has been shown to tear nerve roots away from the spine and 120 pounds can actually sever the spine itself. Vacuum suction is very dangerous and can cause skull and face fractures and hemorrhaging.
If the birthing process can cause these serious injuries, it makes sense that Subluxations can also occur. Subluxations can also occur as the child develops due to bumps, falls and accidents. It is estimated that a child will fall on its rear 3,000 times by the age of three!
Chiropractic allows children to develop appropriately and can help with many childhood ailments.
These ailments include things like: ear infections, colic, irritability, poor bowel habits, constipation and diarrhea. The techniques used at Crevar Chiropractic are very gentle for children and newborns. Adjustments are performed, but there are no osseous movements that cause the “popping” or “cracking” sounds that many adults are accustomed to with their adjustments.
